Arrow The 2 Paths of your assassin

You made an assassin yay, or mybe you havnt but if you havnt you should
because they are very useful in all areas of game play.
As the ranger they can very in all conditions from dervish way assasin ( or commonly called Critical scyth way) to the sliver armor assasin ("Silver Armor is a very common misspelling of the name of the skill (the correct spelling is Sliver, not Silver)".
But it all boils down to how you are going to use your assasin and which path you should consentrate on. lets take alook at your choices:

You are broke and need money and are tired of carlessly trying to solo in off areas very slowly.
Your assasin is now your best friend
There is various ways you can solo with your assasin, but the basic foundation of all these build will be Shadow Form.
Shadow form can be capped by "The Infected Soon Kim" In the Factions campaign. Or you can save up 7,000-10,000g and buy the Elite Tome.
Lets take alook at some of the common soloing assasin builds.

Melee- Although very slow still very effective. Can become more effective if you are targeting certain targets, such as green droppers but not as effective if you are Hard Mode mob farming. The Build runs as a A/ME (ASSASIN/MESMER) and applys that you use Deadly Paradox ; Arcane Echo; and Shadow form with a combination of dagger mastery/ deadly arts melee dmg.
your shadow form shld last you roughly 42 secounds with full shadow arts.
With roughly 41-42 energy, with full energy gear and sup rune of shadow arts and enchanting daggers with no energy mod, you can run the build with no problems ( deadly paradox might take a heavy energy melt ) as long as you use way of the lotus giving you 21 energy back the next time you strike with dual attack.
if you want to use this build correctly it wld be smart to induce shadow of haste and dash into your build allowing you to use the "Ninja" idea.
Shadow of haste gives you roughly 46 secounds of run movment time then you shadow step back to your orginle ( safe zone) location when it ends. Now since SoH ( shadow of haste) is a stance all you have to do is cast another stance on top of it to cancle it out then you shadow step back to your safe zone ( such as dash 5 energy drop and fast recharge time)
*ideas**
you can go on "duo" or 2 man runs with this build
try using Arcane mimicry-> For 20 seconds, Arcane Mimicry becomes the non-form elite skill from target other ally.
Using both Mimicry and arcane echo and your own shadow form give you an endless amount of time to go in and wipe out whole areas.

Caster- The caster sin solo is a solo artist on a massive scale. From AoE fire dmg to sliver
armor they solo intire elite area by themselves.
The idea is basic.
A/E ( ASSASIN/ELEMENTELIST)
Shadow of haste your safe zone ( usualy the starting zone) now go in dont forget to cast shadow form before ( litrarly right before, so you dont waste any shadow form time) you enter the arrgo zone of the target(s). now in you shld began casting your spells rather it be lava font bed of coals and meteor shower or elemental lord glyph of power and sliver armor .
now use dash to get out
usualy this build if used correctly can kill 3-5 at a time.
this requires good "herding" skill, to do this deadly paradox is almost a must bring so you can recast shadow form quickly and re herd your enmies with haste.
these build are VERY energy exaushtive and require off hands as equips.
offhand focus +12 energy with a +15 -1 regen mod
1 hand sword,spear,axe as a primary with +5 energy and 20% longer enchanting mod(s)
*ideas**
see trapping build.

Now that you have seen that you can make total bank on your assasin its time to explore the area of PVP.
PVP assasins are awsome with the ability to step into battle and take control of the target with total ease they give the upper hand to any team.
The daggers have the highest attack rate of any weapon but also have the lowest dmg spike, but comboing with skills (obviously) give them the edge.
Moebius Strike is also one of the most strongest skills of pvp. This skill can be useful both for restarting an entire combo or just getting in an extra Dual Attack. Also, because the recharge time is so fast, you can easily spam dual attacks such as Death Blossom even if the foe's health is above 50%.

Now thats some advice im going to take!

On topic, even if Zyko stated the obvious (and even if his english hurt my eyes), I do honestly believe he brought something; -well, lets just say useful- no matter how small you think it might be.

anyway the class quite frankly has finally really got some farming edge now, but this guide is nothing new.

Plus before this is going to be closed....isn't this supposed to be in the farming section?

but good try on a already oldish idea.

1. Spell correctly. It makes us all look like idiots, and I don't just mean Assassins, I mean Guild Wars players in general and humanity as a whole.

2. 7-10k for Elite Assassin Tome? Haven't paid much attention in the last... well, since tomes came out, have you?

3. Shadow form lasts 32 seconds at 16 Shadow Arts and 38 with 16 SA plus a 20% enchanting mod. 42 seconds? I wish. The world would be a better place for me. Apparently, your understanding of both time and mathematics is tragically low.

4. Shadow of Haste doesn't give you "roughly 46 seconds," it gives you exactly 42 seconds. You don't know how to check your own skill bar or wiki. You fail.

5. Your ideas for energy management of Perma-Shadow are pathetic and a waste of space. Better ways have been derived and are used by basically everyone that uses Perma-Shadow except for you.

6. Great idea about A/E. Ever heard of Raptor farming? As in the most popular type of mass farming in pretty much the whole game? Oh wait. You're a little late.

7. Way to go with your half-hearted half-paragraph about Assassins in PvE. Not like the Shadow Step mechanic introduced a whole new method of maneuverability into PvP and that the spike chain is perhaps one of the most powerful disability tools in the game. Just keep on focusing on a single PvE farming build and ignore the rest of the class.

IN CONCLUSION: Ordinarily, I try to be really positive, especially in the Assassin subforum. I like trying to help new players as well as contribute to veteran discussion while in here. Problem is, you've just pissed me off. Honestly. Learn how to forum, check the sticky threads, check forum rules, learn to use the search function, how to spell, and for the love of all that is good and holy, gw.gamewikis.org. Any/all of those things would be AWESOME before you make another post.

P.S. You're a little elitist to come here with your incorrect and idiotic post and expect to teach those who actually know what they're doing. Try again please.

Obviously, English is not his first language. If it is....uuuugh.

Other than that, pretty much agree with the rest.

/agree with lowest dmg without any combo

agree that sins in pvp can really do the difference if they have a good build, but: if a sin really want to kill fastly he should have a total attack build which make them really weak. If they use a balanced build made of defensive/healing skills they won't really kill fastly. If they use a survivor build such as some sins i saw in RA they are simply useless even if hard to kill (except for a caster like ele/necro/mesmer).

Most sins in pvp run directly to the monk/ele/mesmer trying to do a fast kill...many of them die cos as their step into the group he has 4 peeps on him and get killed in 10 secs.......other sins, with better build, resist more to direct attacks but the time they spend in defense/healing/running () they do not attack.....

I noticed that many of pvp sins don't really care of dying...they simply go on fighting until they last hp is gone, which can be a good tactic..but need to be constantly ressed by the other which make the game really slow....

I still don't know what's the best tactic in pvp most of all in RA where you don't know if you will get a decent team......
